Scrievers & Seannachean

“Scrievers” is the Scots word for writers and “Seannachean” is the Scots Gaidhlig word for story-tellers of history – honoured positions in the community from the days before the written word and after. This Project is designed to find and encourage Poles of the post-war generation in Scotland to write down or record the memories of their fathers, and mothers, of the war years and beyond to their settlement here. Everyone has a story to tell. Some are long. Some are mere snippets. Some are already listed below. All deserve their place in history. The Group’s project will try to uncover the Polish scrievers and seannachean among us and add more to our legacy. Please contact the Group through the contact form if you’d like to discuss further.

1. “Stalemate – A Pawn’s Story” by Aleksander Warszawski as told to AM.

2. “From Generation to Generation – The Inheritance of Memory” by Jennie Milne.
